The city-based Toonz Animation India Ltd, one of the premier animation studios in Asia, has been short-listed for the Global Tech Showcase 2008 (GTS-2008), an international business event that will be held in La Brule, France, in June this year.

The show will offer opportunities for companies from around the world to launch and accelerate their businesses in Europe.

Hundreds of corporate and political leaders as well as government officials and ministers from Europe will attend the event.

In a press release issued here Thursday, Toonz said it was selected after extensive review of over 700 companies by the GTS-2008 selection committee.

'This is an excellent opportunity for Toonz to identify potential clients, business partners, and investors. GTS-2008's unique format will catalyse immediate revenue ramp-up in Europe,' said EuroStart managing director Jean-Bernard Guerree.

'We look forward to exploring opportunities that help leverage our expertise in entertainment and animation on a global scale. GTS, I firmly believe would serve as a launch pad for our expansion plans in Europe,' said Toonz CEO P. Jayakumar.

Founded in 1999, Toonz's client list includes the biggest names in media and entertainment sector like Marvel, Hallmark, Paramount, Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network.

The GTS-2008 will be hosted by EuroStart Capital Partners, a San Francisco-based venture fund, in conjunction with the World Investment Conference.
